St. George gun powder Primer flask

This is an 18th century Saint George the dragon slayer gun powder flask . I am told the ornate flasks as this were only used by hierarchy. It has something written on it but I cannot seem to find out what it says . Maybe Celtic or runic style lettering . It has a chain attached . Brass I believe , I do not want to clean to find out .
